The prestigious Geographical Indication (GI) label, which protects and recognises the work of tribal artists and necessitates clearance from a committee for non-tribal artists to exploit the art, has been awarded to the well-known Gond painting of Madhya Pradesh. A GI tag is a designation applied to products that are solely produced in a particular geographic area and have traits or a reputation unique to that area. This label is put on a wide range of products, including food items, handmade items, machinery, agricultural products, and alcoholic beverages. The GI Tag attests that the name of the well-known product may only be used by registered and allowed users.
